As November 2024 unfolds, the global stage is marked by significant geopolitical developments, with some of the key highlights being the American election results and its ramifications. While continuation of two major conflicts threaten to strain energy and food security, United States and China remain locked in strategic competition, especially in the realm of growth and innovation in artificial intelligence (AI).
Contextually, it is important to bring in the dominance that TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) with its extraordinary growth over the past decade. Its revenue growth has been in the range of 23% month on month; with a near 30% plus growth over the previous year – reinstilling its dominance in the global chipmaking industry, driven by surging demand for advanced AI processors. In contrast is Intel, once the semiconductor superpower, is faltering its way down even in this AI gold rush. The story of Intel cutting 15000 jobs is testimony to the broader challenges the company faces essentially for not keeping upto speed on developments in the overall business eco system
Cutting the long story short, it’s the rapid adoption of AI which is a standout trend, amid a multipolar global order with all including smaller nations and corporations leveraging innovation to navigate risks and opportunities. This rapid adoption of AI is visible in the way OEMs like SAP offer solutions around Business AI and the high level of its adoptions and integration across large to medium to small enterprises revolutionising how Enterprises automate processes, leveraging predictive insights and enhancing decision making
As AI reshapes industries, the need for ethical frameworks and international collaboration grows. Governments are accelerating both regulation and innovation in AI, creating distinct geopolitical blocs and influencing global business strategies. Companies that embrace AI-driven tools like those in the SAP suite are better positioned to thrive in this competitive landscape.
